About Us

Stroke changes lives in an instant. We need an executive team who can help us change what happens next. Join us to make sure that every stroke survivor and their loved ones can live their best life after stroke.

Our executive team leads through connection, courage and collaboration – not command and control.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose and humanity, we’d love to hear from you.

Who we are

Our values underpin our strategy, guiding how we behave and interact.

Team working

Our strategy

Our strategy sets out the reason we exist as a charity, which guides and motivates everything we do, is to tackle the devastation of stroke.

We’re tackling the devastation of stroke by focusing on three key areas, underpinned by a fourth, each with a clear purpose.

Onboarding

Delivering on our strategy

We’re making a shift from being a very traditional, “industrialised” charity to one that’s more responsive to a changing world, and that enables our people to be their best at work.

Hear more about this from Alexis Kolodziej, our Executive Director who leads our Influence system.

'When I joined the Online Community, I realised there were other stroke survivors out there, surviving and thriving. Seeing other people post their achievements on the forum gave me inspiration to try hard so that I could post mine on there. Even though everyone’s goals were so different, I wanted to inspire other people too.'

How we work

We’re a remote first organisation. We’ll provide you with all the kit, but you’ll need somewhere at home you can work from.

Our executive team travels regularly across the UK, with frequent travel to London and the Midlands where we often come together.

We offer a range of generous benefits, including:

  • Flexibility around when you work, to help you balance work and life commitments.
  • Employer pension contributions of 6%.
  • Life assurance, critical illness cover, a health cash plan and more.
  • Annual leave starting at 25 days plus bank holidays, with flex to use those days when you like.
  • A volunteering day each year, to give back to a cause you care about.

Find out more on our website.

'Volunteering is my medicine. Helping other stroke survivors keeps me going with my recovery. I am grateful for every day, for the things that I have and for simply being here.'
